Tenets of TaeKwon-Do

(1) Courtesy

a.To Promote the spirit of mutual concessions

b. To be ashamed of one's vice contemting those of others

c. To be polite to one another

d. To develop and encourage the sense of justice

e. To distinguish instructor from student and senior from junior

(2) Integrity

In TaeKwon-Do, integrity means being able to define what is right and what is wrong, and have the conscience, if wrong, to feel guilt

(3) Perseverance

There is an old Oriental saying " patience leads to virtue or merit. " A serious student must learn to be patient; to continue steadfastly, to preserve

(4) Self-Control

This tenet is extremely important whenever inside and outside the dojang whether conditioning one's self on free-sparring or in one's personal affairs.  A loss of one's self-control can prove disastrous to both student and opponent.  An inability to work within one's capability is also lack of self-control

(5) Indomitable Spirit

A serious student will at timesbe modest and honest.  If confronted with an injustice, one will deal with the belligerence without any fear or hesitation at all, with indomitable spirit, regardless of whosoever and however many the number may be
