What do I wear?  Loose fitting clothes are fine, sweat suit, t-shirt, etc.  Remove shoes and socks.

Where can I purchase a uniform?  A uniform or do-book can be purchased at some sporting goods stores or you can order from Century Martial Arts catalog.

What is a Hyung?  A hyung or pattern is a set series of attacking and defensive movements which follow a logical predetermined sequence.

How is rank achieved?  Each person starts as a blue belt.  A number of techniques along with a particular hyung (pattern) must be mastered before moving to the next belt level.  It is customary for a student to perform a hyung 300 times before moving on to the next one.

How long does it take to earn each belt? That depends on several different things such as attitude, class attendance, class participation, age, and ability

What is Taekwon-Do?  Taekwon-Do literally translates as: "the way or method of destroying with one's hands or feet."

Is Taekwon-Do dangerous?  No, but without proper techniques, it is easy to get injured.  This is why it is very important to have control.  Each person is responsible for having the following safety equipment before sparring: Hand and feet pads, Mouth piece, Head gear and Cup (men only).  There will be no contact to the head, groin, facial area or back.  Light contact to the headgear is allowed only when approved headgear is worn.

When Can I Start?  You may begin at any time.  The class is a progress at your own pace format.

What if I can't come every Tuesday and Thursday night?  Things come up and you can't always be at class, however consistency is the key to your development as a martial artist, especially in the early stages.

Where and how much do I pay?  All dues are done via bank draft on the 5th day of each month with the exception of the registration fee which must be paid at sign up.
